Oldies but Goodies

Although we both had to be at work in the morning, the boyfriend and I stayed up late playing Super Mario Bros. It felt like we were kids again staying up late, hooked on video games, and snacking on junk food. Our late night snack of choice: cookies and cream ice cream. Yum!! (I know it was late but this doesn't happen all the time). I've beat the game a few times when I was younger but the boyfriend never has so our mission is to do it together. I don't think Mario ever gets old...it's just as fun from when I was a kid and always makes for a fun night. Another plus for the night: a surprise visit from an old friend...good times :) What are some of the things you used to do as a kid that you still can't help but love?

Colors of the wind

I really love color so you can only imagine how easy it was for me to fall in love with these illustrations from Marguerite Sauvage. I love how she has birds and different animals flowing from the girl's in the first and fourth pic and check out that hair on what i like to call the Marie Antoinette look-a-like...talk about being creative. Feel free to check out more of her work...these were just a few of my favorite. Anyway here's to a happy weekend. :) :) :)

Somewhere Over The Ocean

Right now my sister and niece are flying over the Atlantic and won't be back until November 13th :( They've been planning the trip for what seems like forever... But I guess it doesn't really matter how long it takes you to get there, eventually you get where you're going.

I couldn't sleep...

Dear dream,

Last night you kinda sucked...I hate it when I wake up and still have that gloomy feeling. Please let tonight be somewhat more magical, happier, one of those dreams where I'm almost wishing it were real. Sweet dreams to me...

Let Them Eat Cake

I've seen this done on a few blogs and have always wanted to try it and today was the perfect chance. My sister's birthday was today and my niece reminded me of this fun way to do cupcakes. All you have to do is:
1. make your cake mix
2. separate into different bowls and add food coloring of choice
3. take a spoonful of each color and put in your cupcake container
4. bake
5. add icing and enjoy

Now I know we are no Martha Stewart but I think they turned out pretty good plus they tasted yummy!!

This was right before we put them in the oven. I love the one at the bottom right...it reminded me of Superman ice cream :)

After they came out of the oven. I think some of the cupcakes may have had too much batter...there were several times that I checked on them in the oven and I was just sure that they were going to overflow and end up everywhere.

Cupcake remains!!! Love this...it reminds of flowers.

After we decorated them we noticed that we couldn't get the cupcake on the left to stand up strait. For the rest of the night it was known as "the drunk cupcake"...I said it was on patron tequila. love that song

The finished result!! :) :) :) So happy

Look for the day

I love the messy bun. It's perfect for when you don't have too much time or if you're having a bad hair day. Today my excuse was not having enough time to get ready this morning. It's so easy to do and is takes only but a minute or two to fix. I added a pretty headband to dress it up.

Concert Weekend

Not too long ago I had a pretty crazy weekend, 2 concerts: Friday night then Saturday night. I love live music and although it seemed as if Monday couldn't come any faster, my fast paced weekend was quite worth it. Besides I still had Sunday to recover. Sometimes too much of a good thing is a good thing :)

This was the only picture of Motley Crue that I could get...one of the workers made me put my camera away :(

{I think it's a pretty cool photo though}

Anyway they completely rocked out and the opener for the night, Godsmack, really brought it. Lets just say the next morning my next was killing me. Gotta love that rock music <3

Saturday Night

George Strait was amazing that night...I had an amazing night. I felt no stress, no worries, just enjoying life at that moment. I couldn't have asked for a better time. George, you're the man.

Happy Weekend Everyone!! :)
