Me and the boyfriend went to see Nickelback a few weeks ago...

they've been on my list to see for a while but I never expected them to blow me away.

I had so much fun that night and I've moved them into my top 5...that's a big deal.

I've seen 3 Days Grace 3 times and those guys are such great performers but by the end of the night they didn't even stand out...I almost forgot that they came on before Nickelback. Definitely want to see them again.

This past weekend me and the boyfriend went to go see one of our favorite bands, Flyleaf. Lacey, the singer is incredible, she's one of those people that just has this exploding voice that you wouldn't expect and she's so sweet, she really cares about her fans. Another plus...the whole band is from Texas!!! This was our 3rd time seeing Flyleaf and they didn't disappoint. They are one of those bands that you know are going to give you a good show full of energy no matter what. Story of the Year came with them...I'll have to get a video posted of them but the one for Flyleaf took forever to upload so I'll save it for another time.

This week has been a little bit busy for me. These last few days of school are kicking my butt. This was my first time taking night classes and lately I've felt so tired.

Just 2 more days...and then I can get some rest. One more day and my sis and niece from Washington D.C. will be here!!! I'm really excited for them to come and spend a few weeks with us just in time for the cooler weather we've been having...I can feel autumn coming along :) Speaking of cooler weather one of my favorite ways to transition a summer dress is to add a sweater or cardigan with pretty detailing. This past weekend I wore this lacy olive green one over my floral dress I had purchased a few weeks ago.

It's going to get a bit crazy

This weekend started to what is to be a busy schedule for the at least the next month. We bought tickets to go see Creed a few months back and September came by so fast. This weekend we are going to the Uproar festival which we will be able to see Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Halestorm, and a few others. It's more of the boyfriend's music but I'm giving them all a shot. You never know who will surprise you. He says Disturbed is one of the best live...guess we will just have to see. Has anyone else seen them yet? After that we have a week off from concerts then The Randy Rodgers band Friday night, Flyleaf on Saturday, and then my dancing shoes will come on for the Hometown Boys Sunday night. Crazy right? and this all just in September. In October we are seeing Nickelback (I haven't seen them before but I'm quite excited), Three Days Grace, and Buckcherry. A week after that Buzzfest comes along and we get to see a few good bands there especially Godsmack and Papa Roach (love, love, love both of them...It will be our 4th time seeing both bands. It never gets old, they bring a good show.) Can't wait!! Is there anyone you never get tired of seeing?

This weekend was full of fun nights out with family and friends. My sister turned "26" again for the we won't mention how many times. We decided to celebrate with a few drinks and you can never go wrong with red velvet cake. Yum...it was just as good as it looks, okay maybe better. I love, love, love Kristen Bell's home. Pretty beautiful right?

Sunflowers just seem to make a room a happier place...one of my favorites flowers.

I love the color scheme in the bedroom and the hardwood floors.

I really like how the dishes are displayed on an entire wall of the dining room. Her pool is one thing I wouldn't mind having especially with this Texas heat. I love the white with spring pops of color in the living room...it's so refreshing.

I finally did it!! Yesterday was my first day back in school. These next few weeks I'm going to be so busy with being at work from 8-5 then school from 6-10 all week except for Wednesday. Me and my sisters went out with a friend Saturday for a few drinks. We started out at Kona Grill because the cute little fish in the aquarium and of course for the strong margaritas. We then headed out to this place Logia where they have pretty black chandeliers, big screen tv's everywhere playing all the hottest videos, and tubes of beer. We spent the whole night dancing and when two finally came around we decided to stop by the place next door. They serve pizza till 3 in the morning so we made new friends and sat out on the patio enjoying our pizza as the early morning hours started to roll in.

First of all the concert was amazing, I had such a great night. Sorry I don't have any pics but the ones that I took from my phone. The tickets said no cameras and for once I decide not to be a rule breaker and sneak one in. I'm kind of glad that I didn't have a camera because I was able to really just live in the moment and enjoy the music. It's just better that way although I wished I would have a snapped a few pics from my phone of the crazed Gaga fans outside. There were some good costumes that made the hour wait outside quite entertaining. The rest of the night was spent singing and dancing...I even brought out my monster hands by the end of the concert (the last song was Bad Romance I just couldn't resist).

These were some pretty orchids that I saw at the store and just couldn't find the heart to pass them up. I had to share their beauty with the rest of the family. I fell in love with the color. Aren't they just beautiful?

My sister happens to love the movie Julie & Julia. I haven't seen it but she told me about a Valentine's Day party in the movie. So this concert was pretty amazing. I've seen Papa Roach

a few times now and they always put on such a great show

...they really bring it. I'm so thankful the boyfriend was

there to record some of our favorite songs. Just to

the left of the camera you would have seen me rocking

it out. I get into the shows...hair banging, screaming, singing,

the works...okay maybe except for the

whole mosh pit thing. I've been in one before

and it getsway too hot to where I'm covered

in sweat (can be a bit gross) and I can barely

breathe. So for now on I just party without all the

shoving and pushing. If they are

ever in your city I would definitely recommend to check them out.

I love Papa Roach, they are great performers...

they are always worth it.

Ever had someone tell you that they had this amazing dream but can't tell you about it because it won't come true? I was told that nope you can still share all the good details as long as you've had your breakfast first. It just so happened that after i ate my apples and cinnamon oatmeal I told my boyfriend about by dream from the night before. To sum it all up I was on the Olympic volleyball team and we won gold!! The crazy part is that I'm not by any means an athelete...I mean I try my best, I get lucky shots, and I've improved majorly from when I first tried playing any sport. Maybe more of an athlete in the making rather than Olympic status...I used to be the girl that was happy enough cheering everyone on. Anyway after our workout, an out of the blue phone call came through from a few friends who wanted to play some volleyball. Guess who's team won the championship?!? MINE!!! Kinda crazy right?

In Full Bloom

This weekend I walked out of the house and noticed the roses had bloomed!!! How did I miss that...for so long (okay 6 weeks) I was photographing that rose bush waiting patiently for something, anything, but nope during that time no roses. I did get some good photos of the thorns and beautiful backdrops in the sky and I really did enjoy the workshop with Miss B.

This weekend was full of roses though...take a look at my dress I wore out this weekend. Perfect for these spring days and oh I'm so happy that my bangs are starting to grow out. I'm glad I tried the bangs but I just don't think they were for me.

Anyway I noticed it's been a whole year already that I started this blog. I'm really happy with myself for keeping up with it and I've enjoyed the comments from anyone thats decided to stop by. Home Again

So I'm back in Texas...

Washington was wonderful and I had the best time being with the family. I was a bit sad to leave...just as my one year old niece was warming up to me,

it was time to head back home.

We spent one night out on King Street enjoying the gorgeous weather and cute shops.

I did get around to stopping by H&M and everything I thought I would love just didn't turn out to be so. Don't you just hate it when nothing seems to fit the way you would want it to?

Oh well...I did get this shirt from Forever 21 so I'm still happy.

I'm finally in D.C.!!! We spent the 1st day here looking at all the monuments and I'll say it was quite worth the walk. We walked sooooo much but it was such a gorgeous day outside I didn't mind. I was a bit sad to see that all the cherry blossoms were gone...my sister said it was beautiful just a few days ago...can't believe we just missed them. Oh well...it still look great in D.C.

Ok I know I've mentioned how excited I am to go vist my sister in D.C. which is the number one reason why I'm excited. Reason number two is shopping..once I realized that H&M is close to her home I started searching online for all their fabulous pieces. We don't have one out here in Texas which has always made me a bit sad. But now, all smiles on my face...I really love the Garden Collection that just recently came out.

I'll be bringing an extra bag home and I hope that these lovelies will be in it.

I've been working on a project for Souvenir Foto School put on by the lovely Miss B at Blah, Blah,Blahg. The idea is to take photos of a plant over a 6 week span and be able to see the changes and how she says, "see the extraordinary in the ordinary". Well I decide to take my photos of a rose bush at my house. No roses yet but hopefully they will start to bloom soon. I'm going to start this off with a little story...almost three years ago my family went to Orlando Florida for spring break. We did the whole Disney/Universal thing. Well on one of those days that we went to Universal Studios, me and my niece decided we were going to get on the Incredible Hulk ride. I love roller coasters, huge drops, flips,the works...so we really wanted to sit in the front but after seeing the wait we went with row two. As the ride began to take off I'm excited, I'm feeling good then the first drop comes, I hear the ladies in front of us screaming and then...splat!!! A huge glob of spit lands right in my eye. My first reaction was too feel what had landed in my eye and after realizing what the thick gooey stuff was, I tried to take it off. Lucky me that the ride was going so fast that it started to dry over my eye. I know so gross... so by the end of the ride my eye was completely shut. I had to run to the nearest restroom to wash off my face. Well my cousins who had just visited Orlando over the holidays were over this weekend and were telling us about the ride. After I decided to share my story with them I heard my niece laughing in the corner and she says, "erica...it was me...I was the one who spit". It's funny, all the times she's heard me tell the story and she never had said anything. The whole time she had been secretly laughing to herself knowing the truth all along.

I Heard it on the Radio

Over the weekend some really good stuff happened, one being that I won Mariah Carey tickets!!!! It was a radio contest where you had to be the 5000th texter. I waited until the texts got into the 4000s and started texting away. When the boyfriend saw me he gave me this look like good luck you're going to need it. When I received a message back saying I won we both couldn't believe it. We got to hear me on the radio so that was pretty cool. Anyway I can't wait until the concert...I've seen Mariah once before and she is amazing!!!

Me and the boyfriend had already decided that 2010 was going to be our year. Although 2009 had some few good moments we were ready to put it on our past. I was even ready to take on the spoonful of black eyed peas I hate so much. It's only been a few days into the new year but they've been great and it keeps getting better. Me and the boyfriend got some much needed happy news that he would be starting a new job next week!!! He's been looking since June and now it feels like things ate starting to fall into place.

Me and my nieces spent most of our afternoons in the kitchen baking Christmas cookies...it's always a favorite thing to do during the holidays.

It's Beginning to Feel a lot like Christmas

I'm so excited that Christmas is finally around the corner. With the weather getting colder as the day pass it's actually starting to feel more like Christmas time...last year it might as well have been summer. Can you believe it snowed last week? That doesn't ever happen in southern Texas (pics to come soon). Hopefully I can get my shopping done this weekend or at least make some progress...crossing my fingers that I do.

The boyfriend and I went to starbucks the other night and I finally decided it was cool enough to get a hot drink...I'm usually a frappuccino type of girl. While boyfriend worked on his book I read his maxim magazine (can you believe I had nothing else to read)...within the first few pages the excess of more than half naked bodies made me wonder if I really should have got the extra whip...but after a second of thinking about it I decided it was way worth it.

It's getting closer to Halloween and I still don't have a costume. Actually a friend of mine is getting married on Halloween so I'm hoping that somone will have a party the night before...or maybe I should just throw one. Hmmm...not a bad idea.

Anyway in the past I haven't really been a part of the "girl world" when it comes to my costume. My family usually throws a big party on Halloween and I've never wanted to be sexy around all my little cousins,grandma, or aunts and uncles. Last year I was Cleopatra and the year before I really got into the spirit when I dressed up as a killer nurse (the boyfriend was my dead patient) ...we had fake blood and everything...so scary. I've been leaning more towards the idea of dressing up as a flapper, you know being a little glamorous but I'm still thinking...Any suggestions for this year?

Washed Away Messages

I love these prints from this etsy shop Bueller I happened to stumble upon...which I'm so happy that I did. I've always found the beach so relaxing and peaceful...I've always wished I had a beach house. How amazing would it be to step out every morning to a beautiful view of the ocean? I also can't get enough of the writings in the sand...if you were to come with me to the beach you would probably catch me drawing hearts with an "e" and "c" ( C is the boyfriend's initial) inside. Sometimes I write it so close to the shore just to see the words slowly fade away into the ocean or other times I leave it where I know someone else will find it. After such a long week of no sleep and the craziness at work, I think the last photo sums up my week. I ended up taking a vacation day to let myself relax and I feel so good right now. Sometimes we just have to know that in the end everything will turn out ok.

A Few Nights Ago at the Fair

The zipper is my favorite ride at the fair ride...pretty much worth coming for this ride alone...We ended up doing 10 flips in a row (the usual is about 4 flips in a row 6 or 7 if you're lucky)...so much fun. I don't know what it is but I love rides that flip or the feeling you get from being on a roller coaster that has a huge drop. I couldn't stop laughing that night...we had a really good time. I even got on the fun slide which you mostly see kids get on but it's a favorite of mine...my niece was like "you're really going to get on that?" and I was like "What it's fun". Anyway it was a good night just hanging out with my sister and nieces...fun rides, corn dogs, nachos, cotton candy, funnel cakes, a big cup of lemonade...okay I'm going to stop it's way too late to be getting hungry.
